One: God is near to all who call upon God, to all who approach the Almighty in truth.

All: We seek God’s kindness and justice amid our tears and our hopes. .

One: With open hands God welcomes us and preserves of from wickedness.

All: Our mouths will speak the praise of God. Our hearts will sing God’s praise.

Prayer of Approach

All: Lord Jesus, push us out beyond the safe confines of our cozy congregation. Prod us out from the cozy comfort of people just like us. Restore to us the great adventure of the good news that leaps like wildfire over all boundaries, that conquers new worlds, and makes family out of strangers. Give us the courage to follow your leading wherever it takes us, even among people we don’t want to meet and places that we don’t want to go. Amen

All: (sung) In God we live and move and have our story.
In love God lives in us and makes us whole
O Jesus may we hear the Word that calls us near;
Your story makes a home within our soul.
Your story makes a home within our soul

One: Here the good news   is :

Revelation 21:1-6
John 13:31-35

One: The Word of God for the People of God
All Thanks be to God

Let us begin with one of my favorite points of discussion. No not chocolate, but rocks and minerals. Consider if you will this sample of Vanadinite it has what are known as a hexagonal structure which contains four crystallographic axes consisting of three equal horizontal, or equilateral axes at 120 degrees to each other, as well as one vertical axis which is perpendicular to the other three. This vertical axis can be longer or shorter than the horizontal axes. All of that to say that in the wonder of creation these have formed in such a way that it is a structure that is well balanced. All things coming together to work in harmony.

Speaking of harmony. Long before we ever thought that the word zoom would be a part of our vocabulary and not meaning really fast there was There is a musician by the name of Eric Whitacre. He had this idea. Using the internet he asked “who would like to sing in his choir?” It was to become a very large choir. 185 voices. And the sound as they sing. Lifts the soul to great heights moving the spirit to silent tears of joy. This man had an idea. This choir, well they have never rehearsed together, in fact they have never met face to face, or at least in person.

It is the result of a virtual experiment. An Idea. And experiment in shared humanity and need to connect. (who new it would be common place over the last two years
People from US, Canada, the UK, Sweden Singapore 12 different countries using only a computer, web camera, following an instruction video on line. Brought these voices together in most wonderful music. People not in the same room, not in the same country but still singing is wonderful and perfect harmony.
Singing in synchronicity. Singing together.

Synchronicity is a concept, first explained by psychiatrist Carl Jung, which holds that events are "meaningful coincidences" if they occur with no causal relationship, yet seem to be meaningfully related.  According to Jung, phases after the death of a loved one or job changes can create greater energy for coincidences. This is all due to the fact that these situations cause changes within us that impel us to seek recognizable patterns that give meaning to our search. Therefore, that feeling of recognition that we all seem to have is the basis for synchronicity.

This could explain cloud gazing and seeing images in the clouds which of course some of us have seen cloud from both sides now.

It is a little like following the bread crumbs taking random events and seeing a pattern in them. From kayos comes order

From this concept comes the Science of synchronicity

"The science of synchronicity can be defined as the knowledge and study of how energy-matter (EM) comes together, reacts, interacts, develops and evolves (events) and moves about (events) to create increasingly complex systems of organization (multiple simultaneous events) and the resultant coherent interaction among the various systems.

Spring beepers They peep in rhythm

Fire flies breath taking, silent. Is there a king fire fly that leads. They don’t know.

People walking in step

Pacemaker cells of the heart all firing in rhythm

Our moon turns exactly on its own axis at the same rate as it orbits the earth. The consequence is that we always see only one side of the moon. This is an example of a gravitational/centrifugal coupling between two bodies. Of course, all of this will be on your year end exam.

Here today Jesus gives us a new commandment. This fulfils all the law, it becomes that which you hang all the law.

We need to begin by stripping away the emotional attachment to the word love.

What is being conveyed here is respect with God our selves each other and world in which we live

I know that we should view all the gospels in equal light and the “golden rule” passage is also in the other three gospel but what is most important is in John we see Jesus as the standard.  Love your neighbor as yourself is fine, but if you do not love yourself, you cannot love your neighbor.  Love another as I have loved you. Then we have the standard to work towards.

This is a right order Coming together Synchronized.

Starlings (which for the most part people don’t like) Don’t like to sleep alone, which leads to a phenomena known as a murmuration The birds fly in these large groupings making wild patterns, dazzling banks and turns which look like they are planned, You would imagine that there would be the many mid air mishaps in murmuration  mayhem. But there is not, each bird watches six or seven other birds around it.

When we are living the great commandment we are watching those around us to see how we can move with harmony in the world. Watching and making the small differences.

It reminds us that we are called to be one with God one with ourselves One with each other  That we are to love God with all our heart soul and mind, that we are to love ourselves and in so doing we are able to love others.  In the words from the song You are Not alone from the musical Dear Evan Hansen “Even when the dark comes crashing through When you need a friend to carry you
And when you're broken on the ground You will be found So let the sun come streaming in
'Cause you'll reach up and you'll rise again Lift your head and look around You will be found. “ We have been found, and when the dark comes crashing through, when the light is warm upon our faces, when life is painful, and when life is full of joy, we are reminded that we are not alone thanks be to God

Through out all the changes, chances, of life it reminds us that We are not alone thanks be to God

Prayers of the people

Hear our prayer we humbly offer

Grant to us your peace O God

Hear our prayer we humbly offer

Grant to us your peace O God.

Blessed God one of the greatest gifts you have given us is the deep knowing that we are not alone.  That we are a part of your world, part of your creation. We hear your call to move in harmony with you and those whom we encounter in our lives. We hear your call to move in harmony with your world. Help us to move in harmony also with ourselves. God give us the patience to take our time,  to know life lessons are not learned in a day, may we know that we are growing, to realize our own special gifts. That you move with us on this journey. Your light touches our souls, and your song sings around us each day.  Even when the dark comes crashing through When we need a friend to carry us, when we are broken on the ground you come to us and lift us up and whisper those words we need to hear, you are not alone.  We offer you this prayer, and prayers for your world. We offer you prayers for those who we hold near. We offer you prayers for ourselves.  We offer you the great prayer which you gave us as we say, Our Father…
